In Greek folklore, Sirens were mythical creatures who were originally described as half woman half bird. They would lure sailors with their beautiful songs, putting them in a trance causing their ships to wreck on the rocks. Sirens were later connected to mermaids, portrayed as half woman half fish, and were often shown playing the lyre to lure their prey.
The Siren Necklace is handcrafted from layers of sterling and fine silver sheet into the shape of a lyre. 24k gold foil is added to the lyre using the ancient Korean technique of Keum-boo, sterling wire is used for the strings, and hand-sawn birds wings emerge from the sides.
The necklace hangs from a sterling silver rolo chain. Please let me know your desired total necklace length via email.
Each one is handmade so may differ in appearance slightly to one shown.
